The Maxxis Ikon is a proven XC tyre with excellent performance properties. Designed for blasting flat out straights with it's low-profile tread, which is flanked with a slightly more aggressive arrangement of side knobs to handle sharp corners. The 3C compound means the softness of the tread increases from the centre out towards the edges, optimising central rolling resistance, side grip, and ultimately durability. Additionally the EXO reinforcement ensures that the tyre is far less prone to tearing when met with particularly sharp trail features.
Technology
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tires: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready.
