The new Seek was created for one reason: to transform the road riding experience for kids and give them the same feeling of speed, efficiency and control that adult road riders enjoy. To achieve this, Giant designed, developed and purpose-built a new range of bikes that stands apart from previous Giant youth road bikes and sets a new standard in the category.
Technologies
- Advanced Composite Technology: Giant's High Performance Grade raw carbon material is used to produce this custom frame material in Giant's own composite factory with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio. The front triangle of these framesets is assembled and molded as one continuous piece in a proprietary manufacturing process called Modified Monocoque Construction.
- Aluxx Aluminium Technology: This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
- Compact Road Design: Introduced by Giant with the professional Team ONCE in the 1990s, Compact Road revolutionized the look and feel of high-performance road bikes forever. A downward sloping toptube (from the headtube to the seattube) creates smaller front and rear triangles for a lighter, stiffer bike. It also makes it easier for riders of all sizes to have a perfect fit.
- D Fuse Seatpost: The proprietary "D" shaped composite seatpost damps vibration, resulting in a smooth, compliant ride.
- Over Drive: Giant's original oversized fork steerer tube technology. Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, the system's oversized headset bearings (1 1/4" lower and 1 1/8" upper for road, 1 1/2" lower and 1 1/8" upper for mountain) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.
- Power Core: A massively oversized bottom-bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 86-millimeter wide bottom-bracket design (92-millimeter wide for off-road bikes). Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
- Tubeless System: Fewer flat tires. Greater traction. Less rolling resistance and a smoother, faster ride. Giant's Tubeless System makes it easier than ever to experience all these benefits.
- Dynamic Balanced Lacing: Since its introduction in 2015, Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) has been the cornerstone of Giant WheelSystems. DBL ensures that spokes are set for optimal tension when under dynamic load, resulting in enhanced durability and pedaling efficiency. The enlarged DBL hub flange also increases the spoke bracing angles, which boosts overall torsional/transmission and lateral stiffness for better power transfer and more stable sprinting.
