The base layer is made from a mix of polyester and polypropylene to create an exceptionally stretchy fit, so that your freedom of movement will be unencumbered. The blend of yarns is also soft to the touch, warm, and high wicking for when the tempo increases and your body is working harder.
Light weight sections on the side and back reduce the bulk where you don't need quite so much insulation and help to give the base layer its almost unnoticeable feel when you've got it on. A wide neck sits easily under short-collared jerseys.
