Ease of Entry and Exit

Shimano’s SPD system is intuitively easy to use. Place the cleat above the pedal cage, step down firmly to engage, and kick your heel outward to exit. It's that simple.

Spring Tension Adjustability

Riders can easily adjust the force needed to clip in and out. Decreasing the spring tension makes getting out easier, while turning it up provides a more secure connection under heavy output.
