DVO Jade X Coil 2025 Rear Shock
Brand | DVO |

The Jade X is everything a modern coil shock should be: the best attributes of an air shock – pedaling efficiency and “on the fly” quick adjustments – with trophy truck DH performance at the flip of a switch. Designed around DVO's most versatile platform yet, Jade X features an all new T3 compression adjustment, a new rebound design and a modern aesthetic. The ride possibilities are endless. The new x series provides the means to explore them.
Since there were less external adjustments, DVO really had to nail the compression and rebound tune. For this, DVO created a brand new high flow piston to allow for more shims to control precise points of the stroke. The rebound and compression damping get strong where you need it and back off in situations where the wheel needs to move quick.
Versatility For Every Trail
The ride possibilities and experiences are endless- the new x series will provide the means to explore them. DVO's most versatile platform yet features an all new T3 compression adjustment, a new rebound design, and a modern design aesthetic.
T3 Compression Revamped
Three settings to conquer any terrain? Damn right. DVO went through countless tunes to land on the most versatile "on the fly" compression adjustment ever. The "Open" setting provides incredible trophy truck like performance, a middle position or DVO's "support" setting for unmatched stability to counter rider input, and a firm position which is damn firm! Amazing for those gruelling fire-road type steep climbs.
New Rebound Design
Rebound has a tendency to get overlooked but has the biggest impact on the overall performance of your ride. DVO wanted to tackle three main areas: Low Speed rebound for support, high speed rebound to eliminate packing, and management for heat to keep rebound performance consistent.
After countless shim stack configurations, DVO landed on an amazingly supportive feeling shock up to the SAG point and controls all rider input to the bike while reducing the oscillation effect. The high speed rebound gets a boost in speed to eliminate packing all together and quickly settle the bike back to your SAG point after every impact. The all new chassis design decreases internal oil turbulence to reduce the build up of heat within the damper. The heat that does inevitably get built up gets expelled with cooling fins on the reservoir.
Robust Chassis Design
The Jade X is designed with all oversized internal and external shafts, double bushings, and thicker seals to help manage side loading and stiffer linkage designs. The new X-Series shocks are built to take a beating and keep coming back for more.
With the new chassis and internal upgrades, the X-Series is the perfect shock for E-Bike application.
Adjustable Bladder
Bladders are located in the reservoir of the rear shock and take the place of a traditional IFP or internal floating piston. They both have the same purpose but completely different ways of executing it. That purpose is to separate the air from the oil. A bladder is basically a balloon which is filled with air and seated to the end cap. The bladder is filled with a high PSI to push back against the oil which creates pressure in the system. As the shock is compressed, oil flows through the the system and starts to compress the bladder.
When the shock goes to extend again, the bladder pushes the oil back in the opposite direction. This decreases the chances of what's called cavitation. Cavitation is when there is a gap in the oil caused from air bubbles and creates a temporary loss of damping. Here's an example of cavitation. Picture turning on a hose, what happens as the water is pushing the air out of the line? Water intermittently shoots out in between gaps of air. This same situation happens in suspension causing a loss of damping.
The real benefit of using a bladder over an IFP is when the shock is working dynamically or in "riding situations". As the shock is compressing and rebounding at a high velocity, it can sometimes have a difficult time changing directions. An IFP usually has a moment of hesitation in that situation due to stiction between the outer O-ring and the inside surface of the reservoir. With a bladder that can't happen and you get unmatched small bump sensitivity with a seamless transition from compression to rebound.
LS Spring
DVO now offer the LS (light steel) spring for the Jade Coil. This spring is made of high grade Japanese steel that saves close to a pound over a traditional steel spring. DVO's LS Spring retains it's weight rating and integrity longer than anything other light steel spring on the market.
