Crank Brothers Synthesis E-MTB Carbon Ratchet 29-Inch Front Wheel

The Crankbrothers Synthesis E-MTB Carbon tuned wheel system is designed to provide ultimate control and stability for pedal-assist all-mountain riding. Rim design, spoke gauge and spoke count are formulated specifically for the front or rear wheel, providing compliance up front and stability out back. Our tuned concept provides unparalleled directional control and predictable handling, while also muting harsh chatter and buzz. Reinforced rims, spokes, nipples and hub components combine for a worry-free E-MTB experience, lap after lap.

Front-end Compliance

Synthesis E-MTB Carbon front rims feature a bespoke rim profile and carbon layup to provide lateral and vertical compliance characteristics where you need it most. Plow through rock gardens and root sections with increased directional control and reduced unwanted torsional feedback through the handlebars. And, a 31.5mm internal width allows for a large tire contact patch, resulting in more grip and confidence on the trail.

Rear-end Stability

Synthesis E-MTB Carbon rear rims feature a reinforced rim profile and carbon layup to provide additional stiffness and stability when loaded hard into corners, and also results in a robust wheel with superior impact resistance. A 31.5mm internal width allows for a large contact patch on the rear tire, aiding braking performance and climbing traction.

New Ratchet Drive Hub

Our entry point to Synthesis carbon wheels feature our new Ratchet Drive hubs, a low-drag hub design with improved engagement and durability in mind. From the factory, our Ratchet Drive hubs feature 36t ratchet rings resulting in 10° engagement, and all of our Ratchet Drive hubs can be upgraded with our 54t ratchet kit for an even quicker 6.6° engagement. A machined alloy hub shell and alloy axle help reduce system weight without sacrificing strength, while sealed cartridge bearings keep things rolling smoothly. Finally, a gloss-black anodization process with laser-etched Crankbrothers icons keep things classy. 

Quality Components

All Synthesis wheels are crafted with quality J-bend spokes from Sapim that are hand-selected for each wheel system's intended riding application - in the case of our E-MTB Carbon wheel system, we choose Sapim's E-light model up front to allow for increased lateral compliance, while the slightly thicker Sapim Strong spoke is selected for the rear wheel for added support and durability.
