Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX bearings provide 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings by employing with a special design where the maximum number of balls (full-complement) are inserted into the bearing, via a custom ground slot in the races. The race grooves are also deeper on these bearings to provide increased lateral support to counteract the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. This 440C Stainless Steel, MAX-type, Double-Row, ABEC-3 bearing features deep-groove design races, with Grade 10 balls and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals for maximum protection against the elements, while keeping the 90% fill of Almagard extra high pressure grease inside. The double-row design greatly reduces flex in the suspension linkage while doubling the bearing contact area and load bearing capacity over single-row bearings.

LLU Seals
Are medium contact, dual lip seals that slot into a groove on the inner race. With more sealing pressure than LLB seals, LLU seals are ideal for suspension pivots and headsets that only rotate a few degrees rather than continually spinning. The increased seal pressure helps retain the 90% grease fill to continually lubricate the balls and races, while keeping dirt and moisture out.
