The Sutra LTD is one of those bikes that just changes everything. You thought you were a mountain biker, but you find yourself sneaking off on adventures and enjoying the drop bars on the LTD. You thought you were a roadie but find yourself absolutely destroying singletrack when no one else is looking and suddenly getting rad is all you wanna do! That's the best part about the Sutra LTD-it broke the mould of what a bike has to be. It's got bigger tires, burlier construction, and enough mounts to hold a horse. But who needs a horse when this is your horse?
The long-regarded Sutra LTD has steadily evolved into a progressive drop bar off-road rider’s dream: true mountain bike tires, a real dropper post, modern yet sensible and capable geometry, and ample frame storage capability while still boasting a fun-sized sloping top tube with cornering-worthy standover clearance. All while touting the supple steel ride quality that made it that instantaneous cult classic. Plus year-on-year-on-year durability. Is it perfect? If it’s not, then this is as close as perfection gets.
Features
- The Sutra LTD has a longer reach, wider bar, and slacker headtube than the Sutra and previous-generation Sutra LTD, creating a more stable feel when descending on technical terrain
- A short seat tube provides the perfect home for 100mm dropper posts. Time to get sendy!
- Two sets of water bottle bosses under the top tube are perfect for mounting custom frame bags
- Fork mounts and bento box mounts offer more gear-hauling options
- Massive tyre clearance means you can run up to a 29x2.25" tyre. The Sutra LTD comes with 2.25" Maxxis Rekon Race tires
- Dropouts allow 160/180mm rotors for increased braking performance carrying heavier loads on steeper and more demanding terrain
- Compared to the original Sutra LTD, the geometry is more aggressive for more dynamic riding. The headtube angle is 69.5°, the fork offset is 55mm, and the seat tube angle has increased .5°
