The Force XPLR crankset is a light and stiff direct mount chainring with refined, elegant crank arms, plus updated, lighter 1x chainrings. Offered in 38T-46T standard chainring sizes and 44T-50T with aero rings, this crank can do it all and looks great doing it.
Technology
X-Sync
SRAM X-Sync 1x chainrings provide the highest level of performance and durability. The SRAM X-Sync tall square teeth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangle shaped teeth. The sharp and narrow tooth profile, as well as rounded chamfer edges, help manage a deflected chain. To provide the best possible performance in muddy conditions, the X-Sync chainrings have been designed with mud-clearing recesses for the inner chain links and rollers. Engineered in Germany, X-Sync rings are an integral part of the SRAM 1x drivetrain. Accept no imitation.
DUB
The relationship between bottom bracket spindle and bearing is the core of DUB technology. It’s where stiffness meets durability. SRAM took it a step beyond conventional thinking and made everything simpler better integrating the relationship between chainring, crank, spindle and bottom bracket. It’s this approach to developing a complete system that equals better drivetrain performance.
X-Range
Road bikes are faster and more capable than ever before, and riders are expanding what’s possible with drop bar bikes. X-Range is gearing for today’s road riding. SRAM completely reimagined road gearing for wider range, more useful and smoother gear progression, as well as smarter shift settings enabled by AXS. With X-Range, you’re always in the right gear.
X-Range achieves wider range and tighter jumps by going to a 12-Speed cassette, but also by moving some of the gear range from the front of the drivetrain to the back. We’ve employed smaller chainrings with a consistent 13T difference, while giving the cassettes a 10T-start for wider range (Up to 10-36, or 360%!). That means you can stay on the same ring longer, requiring fewer front shifts, which are inherently less efficient than rear shifts. And when a front shift is executed, the smaller jump is smoother and allows you to get to the right cadence with fewer compensation shifts in the rear. Fewer, faster front shifts make it easier for you to find the right gear, and that’s a distinct performance advantage relative to traditional drivetrains.
By starting X-Range cassettes with a 10T cog, SRAM's able to keep the cogs and chainrings smaller overall, eliminating the potential weight gain of a wide-range 11-tooth start drivetrain. It's the best way to expand range and keep small jumps between cogs.
More range, tighter jumps, and smoother shifts. What's not to love? With X-Range, getting everything you’ve always wanted in a drivetrain has never been simpler.
