IceToolz cassette remover suitable for several brands

IceToolz is a brand that focuses on both the professional and the (better) do-it-yourselfer in the bicycle industry. But the ordinary cyclist also comes into the picture with handy maintenance products and easy-to-use items. IceToolz is a brand where you can find those things that make your hobby as a cyclist or mechanic or as a bicycle craftsman easier. Note the orange detail: choice of the craftsman.

With this IceToolz cassette lockring tool, the lockring that secures the cassette to the body can be loosened. After this, the sprocket cogs of the cassette are released and can be replaced. For loosening it is necessary to use a second tool, a so-called freewheel remover. The loosening direction of the HG sprocket is the freewheel direction. So a tool is needed to stop the cassette. This cannot be done with bare hands. This really requires a tool that does not damage the sprockets. IceToolz has a number of freewheel customers.

  • The IceToolz 53A2 - The most basic freewheel remover
  • The IceToolz 53S3 - Almost the same as the 53A2, but with an ergonomic grip
  • The IceToolz 53Y1 - An easy variant, works faster
  • The IceToolz 53Y5 - The most professional version, suitable for multiple systems

CR-V stands for chromium vanadium

CR-V = chrome vanadium and that is a type of steel which is an alloy between steel, carbon, chromium (around 0.8%), vanadium (around 0.1%) and some smaller amounts of other metals. This can be done in a ratio that can deviate slightly, but it ensures that the steel hardens and is better protected against corrosion. Chrome vanadium is one of the most commonly used metals in tool making.
